Your account is yours. If you decide you no longer want one with us, you should be able to close it yourself, in the app, without emailing anybody or waiting on a support agent to get back to you. This is how to do it, and what to settle before you do.
Before you start
Deleting your account closes it while any money and any activity attached to it are still live, so clear both first.
Make sure you have no pending transaction on the account. That means no trip that is still running, no booking that has been confirmed but not yet travelled, and no payment that is still being processed.
Make sure your wallet is empty. If there is a balance in it, withdraw all of it to your bank account before you go any further. Do not leave a naira behind.
If you find something pending, stop it or let it complete first. A trip that is under way should be finished, and a booking you no longer want should be cancelled. Once everything is settled and your wallet reads zero, you are ready.
Deleting the account
1. Log in to your Rydr account.
2. Navigate to Settings.
3. Tap Delete account.
4. Confirm. That is it — your account is safely deleted.
A note on what deletion does not cancel
Closing your account does not cancel an outstanding payment obligation. If you owe anything at the point of deletion, it remains owed. This is why clearing pending activity first matters: it leaves nothing hanging between you and us.
Your personal data after deletion is handled under the retention framework in Section 9 of our Privacy Policy, which sets out what is kept, for how long, and why.
